This topic has come up before but the staff responders seem to think the current voucher discount code feature is enough.
This response shows that calendly don’t understand the actual full benefits of gift card implementation.
The idea is that that an end user customer (our customers) can *either* book a paid event in the normal way, *or* buy a voucher which can later be redeemed when booking a paid event.
A gift card is essentially a single-use voucher with 100% off for an event.
You already offer the ability to manually create single-use 100% off vouchers.
The missing piece of the puzzle is that user’s can’t buy these via calendly. So if I want to offer gift vouchers for my sessions, the process becomes clunky and manual, rather than automatic. The customer has to email or message me to ask to buy one, I have to take payment in another (more awkward) way, manually create the code in calendly’s interface, then send them the code.
This clearly reduces sales, because many customers don’t want to have to email/text/phone the organiser to do this (which is why calendly works so well for booking events).
If calendly could create a new “product type” which, instead of being directly linked to a specific date, it bypasses the date booking portion of the purchase process, and is instead just goes directly to the purchase of a dynamically created single use voucher code which gets emailed to the end-user customer, this would make gift voucher purchase possible. This would allow customers to buy (for example) one of my tuition sessions as a gift for a friend. The customer sends the voucher to their chose recipient, who can then later use the regular calendly booking system to book their session using their voucher code.
I feel like this would benefit a huge number of calendly customers, because it opens up the possibility for all calendly customers to offer gift vouchers directly within the calendly system rather than having to create workarounds which put off customers, and add extra work for us, the calendly users.
Thanks
